I remember when Facebook was an enjoyable experience. Since 2006, it has morphed from an entertaining way of keeping in contact with people who you met at parties into a platform where people you knew from highschool post things that reinforce how they want the world to view them, or repost clickbait articles.

It’s agony. On top of that, everything you put up there gets compiled into metrics used to create an advertising profile tailored specifically for you. I developed a few trashy Facebook “apps”, and saw the types of information available through the Facebook API. It’s extensive, but that information available to app creators is probably only a small portion of all that is compiled by Facebook.

Anything that goes onto Facebook is on there forever. It is more prudent for the folks at Facebook, as well as any organization that uses databases, to set a “do not show” flag in the database rather than delete the record.

Long story short, rather than shit up Facebook further and post things on there for the world to see, I made this site. You have the username and password, and I don’t mind if you share it with everyone you know. I would like to keep the information here instead of Facebook, because I would rather be in control of what is shown, and avoid an organization profiting off of me for content created.
