Leo’s been pretty damn funny recently. He talks a lot, but his grammar is a pile of hot ass, so you really have to know what he’s talking about. He’ll get all excited over something and you need to remember what he did.
“Daddy… Leo up, different clocks!”
“yeah Bud, we went and looked at the clocks at Donki and there were a lot of different ones”
( He loves going to the newly-remodeled Don Quixote near up and looking at a wall of clocks. He comments on all of the different ones and mentions the colors. This is his new passion )
“Tomorrow, Doctor Yellow socks on it!”
“Yeah Bud, tomorrow you get to wear your Doctor Yellow train socks and go to the park”
( He says “on it” for a lot of stuff. I am trying to get him to say “put it on”, “take it off”, “turn it on”, “turn it off”, but his little baby vocabulary is persisting)
“Go upping, dark, FIREWORKS. Dohn! Dohn! Dohn!” (saying “upping” and “downing” is something he invented. “dohn” is the noise that big fireworks make)
“yeah, we’re going to go up to the park and do fireworks when it is dark. But, Buddy, we’re going to do small fireworks, not big ones.”
( Yuki took him to see fireworks, and I got him sparklers a few times, and he loves it.)
“I want funny run video!”
“Do you want to eat a funny run video, Bud?” (force him to use the correct verbs)
“…….no!”
“Do you want to SEE a funny run video?”
“See!”
“Use your words”
“See funny run video?”
“Say ‘I want to see a funny run video, please’ ”
“Funny run video….PLEASE!” (Then I show him this and he jogs around the house while staring at his feet: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tvVoY-PTf6s)

It’s quite fun having little dude speaking his mind. He’s also expressing his wants a lot better, telling us when he is tired or hungry. We tried potty training, and that was a pretty big failure. He didn’t know when pee was coming so he’d just freeze when he peed his big boy pants, to the frustration of all of us. We were calm with him, but he eventually requested to go back to diapers.
We also found out that he likes laying on his belly to poop. That’s pretty fucking weird.
