A Year and Change!

Oh hey there! Long time no write! Leo has been keeping us busy with his ability to grab and destroy anything that we thought was safe. He has honed this skill to such a degree that he is capable of grabbing any electronic and changing all of the settings within seconds. My e-reader’s font goes from normal to geriatric-bordering-on-blindman size within a fraction of a section. He has the gift of destruction.

Oh hey, he has some words now! Although we may want to revisit our answer as to what his first words are, I sadly think that they are either “uh-oh” or “ball”. Yuki hopes that they are “mama”. I think that they are not “mama” because it is more of a noise with a rough concept attached. He seems to say “mama” when he needs comfort, “nana” or “nainai” when he is upset or angry, and “baba” when something interests him. Yet, the other night he began to repeat us when we said “uh-oh”. I’m not so sure he understands what it means, but when he hears it, he says it.
However, he seems to know what “ball” is, and will go seek out a ball and say his version of “ball”. To be fair, he has associated “nice touch” with the mobile for much much longer than any of these other words. Because I didn’t want him to go apeshit and rip the paper mobile to pieces, I would always tell him “nice touch” when touching it so he wouldn’t destroy it, which probably resulted in him thinking “nice touch” meant “oh hey Bud, it’s time for daddy to lift you up so you can touch the mobile.

We took a camping trip with some old T-Mark coworkers and had a blast out there. Leo didn’t eat any dirt, which I consider a great success.

Something that interests me is how the site’s theme managed to shit the bed and become inoperative, so I had to hack the hell out of this trainwreck and reset the password in the database and disable the theme. The original theme may come back later, or we may be left with something else. Who knows! Additionally, who cares!?
